KeyLines 4.7: Organic Graphs

3rd September, 2018

KeyLines 4.7 has landed and is available now to all customers and evaluators. This latest version includes three great new features, plus a number of smaller enhancements and fixes to improve your development experience.

High-performance organic layout

We’re excited to announce a new high-performance force directed layout. The organic layout is designed to detangle complex networks by spreading nodes and links apart to reveal underlying structures:

Nodes and links are spread in distinctive fan-like shaped, highlighting graph structures

It’s especially efficient for larger graphs. Our benchmarks show a 5-6x performance improvement compared to the standard layout.

The organic layout arranges multiple components in a circular pattern with larger components in the centre

The organic layout is currently in alpha release, so we’d welcome feedback from our users. Take a look at our updated Layouts demo and let us know how you get on.

Highlight events in the time bar

The time bar histogram helps to explain how events and relationships evolve over time. KeyLines 4.7 adds the ability to mark times or time ranges of interest to make them stand out:

It's now possible to highlight times or time periods in the KeyLines time bar

It’s an effective way to highlight specific alerts or periods of unusual activity, like IT network anomalies or disputed transactions. Take a look at the Credit Card Fraud demo to see it in action.

Font Awesome Version 5 support

We’ve updated our demos to use the latest Font Awesome 5 icon set. This means you can now specify font weights and different styles: solid, regular and light. See our Fonts and Font Icons documentation for more detail.
