Software test engineer

Full-time and permanent
Hybrid working, with 1 day a week in our central Cambridge office

Are you naturally curious, with a talent for breaking things to ensure they really work?

As a Test Engineer, you’ll join one of our product teams but rotate between the various products, ensuring features are of the highest quality from their inception.

What’s involved?

This is a collaborative role, focused on maintaining and improving the high standard of our product offerings. You’ll work with the entire development team to make improvements and build quality into the product.

You’ll work with software developers to identify risks in each release or feature, and adapt test plans accordingly. You’ll also design test strategies for new features where the interface is not obvious.

This is a full-time permanent position with hybrid working – three days a week in the office during probation and one day a week thereafter,

Who’s the ideal candidate?

To succeed in this role, you’ll need considerable manual testing experience using agile processes. You’ll also need to be an analytical and creative thinker, with some experience of exploratory testing, and defining acceptance tests.

Ideally, you’d also have some knowledge of platform-specific procedures such as running and viewing CI/CD pipelines, deploying code from branch clusters and creating dummy paths and pipelines.

Some understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript is also highly desirable.

You may also have:

  • Experience of testing web applications and/or SDKs
  • Data visualization or analysis/software development
  • Performance testing

Who you’ll work with

We have four development teams, each made up of JavaScript/TypeScript developers, working alongside technical writers, test engineers and a development manager.

Opportunities to grow

Everyone here gets funded professional development time, with up to five days allocated to learning new skills – whether that’s at conferences, training programs or other related courses.

Be yourself

We want to build a fair, respectful and welcoming company, where everyone feels at home. That means taking a long-term approach to equality, diversity and inclusion – not treating it as a tickbox exercise.

With the help of our EDI group, we’re working to make every aspect of the business – including recruitment – fair, respectful and inclusive.
